2/14/23 - paid $32k for a brand new roof with a 2 year workmanship warranty. March, 2024, contacted Gallery Built Roofing because there was a leak in two places inside my home. Finally got them out in April. There was a water stain in the upstairs and I could hear dripping when it rained in the ceiling downstairs. The Project Mgr said he and a roofer would come out to take a look. The roofer showed up but not Project Mgr as promised. The roofer didn't speak English and had to have his wife come over to translate. He initially said it was clogged gutters, (I had recently had them cleaned so I knew this was not the case) then he said my stucco had cracks in it and that was the cause. So I hired someone to re-stucco the outside and paid $3500 to have the work done. The leak upstairs stopped, however I continued to hear dripping in the ceiling downstairs when it rained. I reached out to owner by phone and text for several months. Chris (owner) finally came over in August of 2024. He never even looked at the roof, said he couldn't believe it was a roof problem but said "I give you my word that I won't just leave you hanging and we will figure this out. I will have one of my guys come look at it." Two months later nothing. I reached out again and Chris acted like he never said any of that. I continued reaching out via text, vm, and email. 1/9/25, last email sent in the morning stating I could still hear dripping when it rained. Same night I hear loud water running downstairs. I discovered water pouring out of the ceiling where I'd heard dripping. I called the owner and left a vm, several minutes later he text me back. Didn't seem to care. I mean I have water pouring out the ceiling in my house and he can't pick up the phone to talk to me? I called the next day and he text me saying in a meeting. It took 2 days for him to call me back. Meanwhile the snow on the roof starts to melt and I have another round of water pouring out of the ceiling. On 1/12/25 his roofer Orlando came over, looked at the roof and said it was a PVC vent pipe that was broken and it was a plumbing problem. Interesting but okay, I will all a plumber. I call the owner to discuss and it took two more days for him to call me back on 1/14/25. Told me the same thing that Orlando said. I told him I didn't think it was the plumbing and he said he would talk to Orlando and call me the next day. Never heard back. On 1/1/18 and 1/19/25 the plumber came over, tore out the ceiling and there is no pipe broken and the vent pipe is nowhere near the leak. The leak occurred when the snow melted so not possible to be the vent pipe since it's about 6 inches above the roof line. The plumber said to contact my roofer. I called and text the owner twice on 1/20 and no response. He finally responded the next day via text saying it wasn't the roof and I needed to explore other options. I've not heard from him since. The plumber came back a third time, got up on the roof and put a hose down the vent pipes and no leaks. Gallery Built Roofing does not want to take responsibility for the work they did that is failing and this occurred well within the two year warranty that was provided when this started. I'm really disappointed as most of the ratings are very positive so I do not understand why I would be treated this way and they will not stand behind their guarantee. Now I still have a leak, a huge hole in my ceiling and my hardwood floors are ruined when all of this could have been prevented had they done their due diligence almost a year ago when I first contacted them. I've included 3 photos of the leak in my kitchen (I now have leaks in the living room and upstairs bedroom), some patchwork they did and how they left my A/C units after they reset them with all the wires exposed.
Feb 6, 2025We’ve had several neighbors that have had roof damage from the 5/27 storm in the North Dallas area. We had Brian come out to do a free roof inspection. Brian was awesome! He was honest, extremely knowledgeable about roofs and home owner insurance- very nice guy! He explained that since our roof is brand new since we have a brand new home that there were no issues and we were lucky with the storm that passed through. He pointed out minor soft metal dings but said it was nothing to repair at the time. We’re so glad we found an honest roofer! If and when we need roof repairs done we’ll be calling Brian at Gallery Built Roofing for sure!
